Academia Sinica is now accepting applications of Taiwan International Graduate Program for the 2004-2005 academic year

Academia Sinica, the preeminent research institution in Taiwan, is please to announce that its Taiwan International Graduate Program is now accepting applications for the 2004-2005 academic year.

Since 1994, Academia Sinica in Taipei, has been under the helm of Dr. Yuan T. Lee, a Nobel Laureate in Chemistry in 1986. Under his stewardship, the institution has been reinvigorated and expanded into a dynamic research center. More than one thousand researchers from Taiwan and abroad, most of them respected scholars in their fields, work in Academia Sinica's twenty-eight institutes.

In 2002, Academia Sinica established theˇ§Taiwan International Graduate Programˇ¨(TIGP), a Ph.D. granting program in cooperation with the most prestigious national universities in Taiwan. Currently, it offers seven Ph.D. programs and those who successfully complete the academic requirements will be conferred a diploma certified jointly by Academia Sinica and a relevant national university. There is a possibility for scholarships for successful TIGP candidates.
